Meme Trope Proof of Concept

In the continuing quest to drive my self insane, I'm now pushing my MovableType blogging experiments into public. I've installed MT on my OS X laptop, publishing to my local Apache server. My next major step is to replicate the installation on the remote Linux box where I host my own domains.

As an intermediate step, though, I'm going to see if I can export or replicate my local experimental site to the public host. At that point, I'll be actively publishing with Blogger Pro, Radio Userland, and Movable Type. That's the insanity. At some point I will want to standardize on a single platform, and I'll have to deal with archiving out content and bringing it into the winning sytem, or at least consolidating all blogs and categories into a single system from that point on.

This will probably take a while, and meanwhile I dig myself deeper into my current half-measures, but the alternative is to hold out for perfection and omniscience at the expense of writing and publishing and participating in a revolutionary moment.

The biggest hitch is the design. I have to admit I don't like the default design here, especially when Movable Type blogs are usually the most tasty around. I don't know if that's because there are slicker templates lurking somewhere, if there are more designers using MT, or some other reason. As always, though, I'll try to improve after starting, rather than perfect and procrastinate.
