The N-Judah blues

It’s been years since I’ve ridden the N-Judah muni streetcar on a regular basis but for a while there back in the late ’80s and early ’90s I practically lived on it.

I rode it to get downtown, to get to BART, to get to the east bay, to get to Dead shows. It was always late and it was always crowded.

My friend Nick tells me there was a song by some obscure SF band in the ’60s called the N-Judah blues.

I can believe. Now the line has its own blog: The N-Judah Chronicles.

hilarie:

It wasn't a band, it was Doug Stone (the Dulcimer Player, not the Commercial Country-Western Singer). And it wasn't the 60's, it was the 70's. It is a song that is as relevant today as it was then. The man was a visionary (he created "Skin"). It is sad that he just up and disappeared one day.

Doug Stone:

Um, I'm Doug Stone and I am sorry if I made anyone sad by disappearing. It's more like I just stopped performing but I'd be glad to start again if anyone cared to listen. Boy, I sure was glad to see that someone thought I was a visionary. That made my day.

xian:

Oh, I'd love to hear you play!
